I have always believed that India can change not through missions, projects, or government schemes but through a positive, development-oriented, people-oriented movement. Earlier movements (independence, emergency, mandir, mandal, or Anna) have been confrontational and destructive, as if trying to break a building without any blueprint for a new one.
Burhanpur in Madhya Pradesh has started looking like the beginning of a pro-farmer movement for change (like in Parli).
Yesterday, multiple farmer groups in Burhanpur lined up the roads with big banners, welcoming us as their own. We had invited and expected around 50-60 key farmer leaders (due to COVID restrictions), but the hall was overflowing.
There seems to be tremendous hope and willingness to work to change their lives.
INDIA CAN WAIT NO MORE!
